Prompt: Round 3, Challenge 4; Lots of illegal stuff happens in the 'Verse. Who would you least want to be caught by?
Word Count: 214
Who would I least want to be captured be? Well, if it were a lesser offense similar to stealing the last cookie, I wouldn’t want to be captured by Jayne. I would never hear the end of it. He would gloat until the day the ‘verse ended. Perhaps even after that--the man is stubborn.
However, if it were for a more serious offense? After everything that I have seen and felt and experienced onboard Serenity, I think I would least want to be captured by Malcolm Reynolds. If I did something that betrayed or endangered everyone onboard, I would be hunted down like an animal in all likelihood.
If, perhaps, I actually had the nerve to kill someone like Kaylee, there would be a greater chance of being hunted to the ends of the known ‘verse. There would be a reckoning.
I have seen his anger directed towards others. It is a look that chills you to the marrow, and assures you that you will not be around for much longer.
I pray that I would never have just cause to harm anyone on Serenity. I would never intentionally harm Kaylee (she is like a sister to me) or any of the others.
They have become family to me. I love them all.
