Would you be able to kill someone to save your own life? To save someone you loved?

Well now that is strange way to go with these questions. Huh. Seems you would already know the answer to both sides of that line of reasoning. I have killed plenty, more than I care to recall especially to some odd fella asking me. War makes us do things we would otherwise never condone, much less commit ourselves. Saving my own life became all I could do most days. Until Zoë came along. And then, well, saving her when she wasn’t saving me became part of my day to day, same as breathing. Truth be told, she needed less saving than me, she always was the better soldier and shooter.

To save someone you loved? That there ain’t hard to figure if you were half watching the vid feeds a few months back. Things got awful tense then, folk coming after me and mine, looking to take what wasn’t theirs to take, dong ma? This is my crew, they follow me, and I take care of them. They chose to leave, well, then that becomes a trickier question.

What’s that?… Yeah, I went back, but it weren’t for the reason you think. She was here long enough to be crew, to get rescued when the need required it. Trap or not, I had to go and get her.

I don’t leave my crew behind.
