Well, Buddha knows I asked enough. More than enough, but maybe trying to convey the message through my wife wasn’t enough. I know Mal would always tell her that we didn’t have enough time or money or food stuffs or that the planet we wanted to set down on was infested with carnivorous man eating monkeys! For whatever reason he’d tell her “next time”, “later on”, “Now’s not a good time, Zo’.” Never an out right, “No.” cause, first of all you don’t really tell Zoë she can’t have a honeymoon with her sweet and cuddly, yet manly man of a husband, without a damn good reason. Second: that wouldn’t make the pilot happy. Not that its Mal’s mission in life to keep the pilot happy, but he know it’s not so great having an unhappy, preoccupied pilot.
I digress. I just wish that I’d sat Mal down, Man to Man, and made him listen to me when I told him that Zoe (my wife) and I needed certain time to our selves. Like married couples are supposed to have. No more over the shoulder comments or half jokes. One on one. I should have had that conversation with him. Not passed notes and comments through my wife.
As lovely and focused as she is … She does tend to get distracted by the job.

Doesn't she just. Nice darlin'. I like the way you play with Wash's rambling style of delivery...

"Her sweet and cuddly, yet manly man of a husband"

I can just see him going with "sweet and cuddly," and then adding "yet manly," as an aside... it's so clear in my head that I can barely stand it. Wonderful.
