Prompt: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?
Word Count: 206
Changin’ one thing about myself? Wow, that’s got ta be a tough one. I wouldn’t change anythin’ about my mechanics. I love my job too much ta do that. I can’t think of a thing.
Well...maybe one. I would want ta be full o’ grace like Inara. Beautiful an’ loved by all a’ her clients. I might envy her just a tad.
She has all those men fallin’ over themselves ta get a chance ta sleep with her. Sure, I know I got Simon. But Inara? She has her pick o’ half the known ‘verse!
That’s a big deal ‘round here.
She can also wear frilly dresses. I don’t have much use for those, if I don’t want ta get engine grease on somethin’ delicate. I have ta end up hangin’ my leftover gown in a spot that ain’t messy.
On this ship, that’s a tough place ta find, too! Still, that pretty pink thing Mal got for me once is stored in th’ old meat locker. Maybe that’ll keep it nice an’ fresh.
If not, I could just use it for strips of cloth. For whenever the engine gets a big messy. Ya never know, since she needs her upkeep an’ all.

And I would imagine that fixing the engine is probably more important to her than keeping that dress clean. If she ever wanted to wear it again, there would be a lot of holes in it.
